Life can be challenging! As members of the First Reformed Church of the Palisades, we do our best,in the power of the Holy Spirit,to be a caring, accepting, and helpful group of people. We think it's important to provide meaningful worship, sympathetic counseling, and a solid program of Christian education. We believe preaching must be Biblical and practical. We strive to build strong ministries and a community of people who support each other.

The Lord's Day
Sunday School - Classes begin at 9:15 am and end just before our service begins at 10:30. The adult class is held in the church fellowship hall.
Sunday Morning Worship – Service begins at 10:30 a.m. Each Sunday we worship the Almighty King with prayer, song, study of His Word, and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Children’s Message - As a regular part of our worship service, an adult from the congregation delivers a brief object lesson to our children. These messages are designed to teach biblical truth at a level our children can easily understand. More often than not, the Children’s Message ministers to the adults as much, if not more, than our children.
Communion - On the First Sunday of every month, we share the Lord’s Supper during service to remind us of the price that was paid for our salvation, to commune as brothers and sisters at our Father’s heavenly table as He instructed us to do, and to celebrate the hope of eternal life in Jesus Christ.
Nurturing Children
Children's Church (Ages 5 and up) - After the children’s message the children are invited to Children's Church which is held in the church hall. Here, age appropriate study of God’s word and activities takes place.
Nursery (Birth to Age 4) – The nursery is located in the back of the church next to the kitchen and is designed to provide a safe environment for preschool children to enjoy while their parents focus their attention on Christ the King. Please note, nursery is available from 10:30 am until the end of each service.
Mid-Week Ministries
Women’s Bible Study - The study begins every Tuesday at 9:30 am in the church hall. This is a special time of learning and fellowship. The class usually lasts until 12:00 pm and lunch is provided after the study. Nursery is available at a cost of $2.00 per child. LEADER ROSIE MINGOS.
S.K.I.T.’S (Spiritually Keeping In Touch with Seniors) - This is a monthly meeting where the seniors in our congregation are invited to share lunch and fellowship with each other and with the Pastor. Following lunch, the pastor leads the group in a Bible study.
Other Ministries
Some of the other ministries that are special to us as a congregation are:
Prayer Chain - We stand at the phone ready to intercede for each other should an urgent need for prayer arise during the week. All we need to do is call in a prayer request and it is passed along to members of our congregation who are on the Prayer Chain. We see new evidence of the Lord’s faithfulness each time the Prayer Chain is put in action. God is Great!
Deacon’s Fund - We assist people in the surrounding community with financial needs through the issuance of small loans and grants.
LADIES PRAYER GROUP- The women of FRC meet for prayer the second Tuesday of each month in the Clara White House at 7pm. See Marlene Kilkenny for more info.
Angel Tree and Samaritan’s Purse - As a tradition, we bring small Christmas gifts to the church each year. The gifts are collected and then distributed to needy children both at home and overseas.
Thursday Evening Bible Study - We begin our time together with a Pizza dinner at 6:30 and followed by an interactive Bible study at 7:45pm. Currently on break and will resume in October.
Youth Group has been growing and has been meeting every other week on Sunday evenings from 6-8pm in the Fellowship Hall. See Pastor Dominick or Diane Wamsley, for more information and a calendar of events. Keep this vital ministry in prayer and check back often to see our progress. We welcome our children's friends, that might not have any other spiritual instruction in their lives to be invited, as well! R.O.C.K. (Reaching Out for Christ's Kingdom)
Ladies Care Group - A small group meeting on the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at a member's home. Call the Church office for more information.
Men's Bible Study - This study begins every Wednesday at 12:00 noon with Pastor Dominick at the Red Oak Diner in Fort Lee. Please call for more information.
Christian Overcomers- Many of our members volunteer to serve this ministry to the disabled. Opportunities to serve throughout the year for events and camps.
NEW E-mail Prayer Chain - This is in addition to the Prayer Chain. Nowerdays, some of us have easier access to our e-mail than a phone call. You can check out your e-mail and in the privacy of your office or cubical can pray for a bother or sister's urgent prayer need. Please email the church office if you would like to be added to this additional prayer chain.
